Tamil actor Arya booked for cheating crores of rupees

Hyderabad, July 13: A camera equipment rental company has filed a complaint against actor Arya, accusing him of financial fraud.

A complaint has now been filed against actor Arya at the Hyderabad Jubilee Hills police station. The actor is in legal trouble. In connection with the production of the film ‘Ananthan Kadu’, a case has been registered against actor Arya, producer Vinod and others. The company has alleged that they have failed to pay more than Rs. 1.80 crore in rental dues for the camera and lighting equipment used during the shooting of that film.

What is in the complaint?

According to the report, the complainant has claimed that the makers of the film ‘Ananthan Kadu’ rented premium digital cameras, lighting units and other shooting equipment from a Hyderabad-based rental company for the shoot. The company alleged that the production team had promised to pay the money on time as promised, but the film crew failed to keep their promise. After the shooting was completed, the company alleged that the producers did not pay more than Rs 1.80 crore out of the total Rs 2.12 crore.

The rental agency alleged that the producers had agreed to the payment in writing and promised to pay the balance before the release of the film. The company claimed that despite repeated reminders through letters, phone calls and WhatsApp messages, they were not making the promised payment, creating problems for their career.

When the company’s manager approached the production team to demand the outstanding balance, Arya, producer Vinod and his close aides threatened them, the complaint alleged.

Police investigation launched

The police have now started an investigation based on this complaint. Jubilee Hills police have registered a case under sections related to cheating and criminal intimidation. It is possible that those named in the complaint will be questioned as the investigation progresses. The producers of the film Arya and Ananthan Kadu have not yet issued any statement regarding the allegations.
