Vande Bharat Train trial run to begin from June 3

Bengaluru, June 01: The trial run of the Vande Bharat Train from Bengaluru to Mangaluru will begin from June 3. This service has been possible after the electrification between Sakleshpur-Kukke Subramanya has been completed, and full-scale operation is expected to begin in the next 15-20 days.

The trial run of the Vande Bharat Train from Silicon City Bengaluru to coastal Mangaluru is being started from June 3, said Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti V. Somanna.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the railway flyover work in Ajjampura, Chikkamagaluru on Sunday, 99% electrification has been completed in the state, with only 1% remaining. 55 km of electrification was pending from Sakleshpur to Kukke Subramanya. The problem has been resolved after meeting with the officials four or five times.

Vande Bharat train service will start on a trial basis from June 3, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav have informed that Vande Bharat train service will be started from Bengaluru to Mangaluru and from Mangaluru to Bengaluru in the next 15 to 20 days.

Vande Bharat train in 14 districts

Currently, 12 Vande Bharat trains are running in 14 districts of the state. The 13th Vande Bharat train, which will run between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, will be added soon. Out of the 6 Amrit Bharat trains that have been sanctioned, five are running in the state. He said that 835 CC cameras have been installed at the railway stations in the state for safety reasons.

Construction of 3,840 km of new railway line

We are going to start Memo train service from Arsikere to Bengaluru in 10 to 15 days. From Arsikere to Bengaluru it will cost only ₹35. He said that the fare has been fixed. 30 trains that were stopped in the state during the Covid period have been restarted. Work has been undertaken at a cost of ₹2 thousand crores at 61 railway stations in the state. After becoming the Railway Minister, 3,840 km of new railway lines have been constructed. He informed that 31 new railway projects are in progress.

Rs.52,900 crore cost project

The Central Government has provided ₹7748 crore for railway development to Karnataka for the year 2026-27. The previous governments were providing only ₹300 to 340 crores. In just two years of his assuming office as the Minister, projects worth ₹52,900 crore have been completed and dedicated to the nation.

400 level crossings free in 2 years

The Prime Minister had instructed that there should be no level crossing (LC) gates within 100 km of Bangalore. Already 707 level crossing gates have been cleared in the state and flyovers and underbridges have been constructed. The remaining 400 gates will be completed in the next 2 years. This will save the public’s travel time, he said.

There were three railway level crossings in a village in Hagaribommanahalli in Bellary district. The Railway Department is carrying out the work at a cost of ₹150 crore. The MPs there are from the Congress party. The Prime Minister has instructed that politics should not be done in the matter of development, he said.
