During the Combating Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) program, Harold D’Souza, internationally respected Survivor Advocate, Human Rights Champion, and Inspirational Speaker, was honored for his lifelong commitment to ending modern slavery and empowering survivors across the globe.
The recognition was presented by Linda K. Dixon, Director of the Combatting Trafficking in Persons Office at the Department of Defense, who acknowledged Harold’s exceptional leadership, survivor-centered advocacy, and unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable communities while educating leaders throughout America and internationally.
Together with his wife, Dancy D’Souza, Harold co-founded Eyes Open International (EOI), a survivor-led nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing human trafficking, empowering survivors, educating communities, and restoring hope to individuals whose voices have too often been silenced. The Indian American couple has transformed unimaginable personal tragedy into a global humanitarian movement that continues to influence governments, educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, faith communities, military leaders, and international organizations.
