Gurugram, Sep 14: A minor altercation over a trivial issue has now become a major talking point across the country, with a video showing a car ramming into a female biker going viral.
The incident, a case of road rage, occurred on Golf Course Road in Gurugram, where a car chased down and collided with a bike ridden by a woman, leaving her injured. Police stated on Monday that the car driver fled the scene after the accident.
The incident, which took place on Sunday morning, came to light after Sia, the female biker, shared a video of the crash on social media. The event was captured by a camera mounted on her bike as well as by cameras belonging to other bikers riding with her.
The video records the moment Sia was thrown off her bike onto the road due to the impact of the collision, while the bike itself skidded several meters along the road.
What happened?
Sia was riding her Aprilia RS 457 bike alongside members of her biking group. She alleged that a white sedan approached their bikes dangerously close. Sia stated that the occupants of the car were behaving aggressively and repeatedly gesturing for them to stop their bikes. “I told the driver to maintain a safe distance. However, he kept gesturing for me to stop my bike. The occupants of the car appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Sia stated that she tried to move ahead while maintaining a safe distance.
Meanwhile, a friend riding behind her tried to prevent the car from coming alongside her bike. Despite this, the car continued to follow them. Sia alleged that the collision occurred when the driver tried to cut in front of her bike to force a stop.

Footage of the accident shows Sia being dragged along the road for a few feet due to the impact, while her bike is seen skidding across the pavement.
After the accident, one of Sia’s friends chased down the car and intercepted it at a traffic signal. They confronted the driver, accusing him of causing the accident. However, Sia alleged that the driver denied the accusation and sped away from the scene.
Sia shared the car’s registration details on social media, including information about the registered owner, and urged the police to take action against the driver.
As the video went viral, netizens tagged the Gurugram Police, Gurugram Traffic Police, Delhi Police, and Haryana Police, demanding action against the driver.
Case Registered
The Gurugram Police stated that the incident came to their attention only after a video of it circulated on social media.
Sandeep Turan, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Gurugram Police, said that the exact location of the accident is being verified based on the available video footage. He added that necessary legal action would be taken once it is confirmed which police station’s jurisdiction covers the incident.
“No information regarding the accident was received by the police control room, nor has any written complaint been filed by the victim,” Turan said.
The police intend to contact Siya to obtain a written complaint. Following that, an FIR will be registered, and action will be taken against the car driver, he stated.
Gurugram’s roads are not safe:
In her post, Siya expressed that the incident has left her feeling unsafe on Gurugram’s roads. “I have nothing to say. But today, I feel unsafe on the roads of Gurugram. There are people who hit others and flee without any fear,” she wrote.
