Ayodhya, Sept 16: Officials stated that Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has planned to construct a Dharmashala in Ayodhya in the name of his father, the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and has submitted an application to the Ayodhya Development Authority seeking permission.

Anurag Jain, Vice-Chairman of the Ayodhya Development Authority, said on Tuesday that the proposed facility is likely to have more than 20 rooms and will provide accommodation and other organized amenities to devotees visiting Ayodhya from various parts of the country.
“Many prominent personalities from across the country have contributed to the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. In this regard, actor Amitabh Bachchan has also applied for permission to build a Dharmashala with over 20 rooms,” Jain told reporters.
He mentioned that the proposal has been published in newspapers, and any objections regarding it have been invited.
“Once the stipulated period expires, it will be reviewed, and approval will be granted in accordance with the rules,” Jain said.
The proposed Dharmashala is planned on land purchased by Bachchan in Ayodhya. Jain added that the facility would help provide well-organized accommodation for devotees traveling to Ayodhya from distant places.
