Mangaluru, Oct 6: TIARA ’26 – Tech, Talent & Triumph, the techno-cultural fest of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, Mangaluru, was inaugurated on Tuesday, October 6, at the SJEC Basketball Court, marking the beginning of two days of technology, creativity, talent and entertainment.









Vishwas U S, Founder Director, Section Infin8 Foundation (SI8), was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony.
The programme commenced with the welcome by the Masters of Ceremonies, Prachi and Asher Pinto, who formally welcomed the gathering and set the stage for the inaugural celebrations. This was followed by a vibrant flash mob performance by the students, which added energy and excitement to the occasion.
The highlight of the inaugural ceremony was the unveiling of the TIARA ’26 logo, formally marking the commencement of this year’s fest.
Following the logo unveiling, Rev. Fr Kenneth R Crasta, Assistant Director, SJEC, welcomed the chief guest with a bouquet.
Addressing the gathering, Vishwas U S emphasized the responsibility of society in shaping the younger generation. Quoting the words, “What society does to its children, so will its children do to society,” he highlighted that the values, opportunities and environment provided to young people ultimately influence the kind of society they build in the future.
He urged students to make responsible use of the opportunities they receive and to contribute positively to society through their knowledge, skills and actions. He also emphasized the importance of participating in platforms that encourage creativity, learning, collaboration and healthy competition, encouraging students to look beyond academic achievements and develop themselves as responsible individuals who can make a meaningful contribution to society.
The chief guest was subsequently felicitated by Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal, SJEC, and Rev. Fr Kenneth R Crasta, Assistant Director, SJEC, in recognition of his presence and contribution to the inaugural ceremony.
The programme was attended by Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal, SJEC; Rev. Fr Kenneth R Crasta, Assistant Director, SJEC; Sachin U and Himani K Raj, Convenors; and Prathik Moras and Nazmin Ziya, Student Convenors, along with faculty members, staff and students.
Technology, Talent and Creativity Take Centre Stage
TIARA ’26 brings together a diverse range of technical, non-technical and cultural events, providing participants with opportunities to showcase their technical skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, teamwork and competitive spirit.
The first day features events including Swar Symphony, RC Blaze, Robo Kick, Hustle Manager, Robo Wars, Flight Fury, Pixel Mania, Reload, ARG Game of Caesar, Battle of Booyah, Golden Trail, Groove, Press Con, Route Line and Singularity Showdown. The day also includes Spin the Disc and a band performance at the SJEC Basketball Court.
The second day continues with Robo Wars, Quiz Wiz, Latent @ TIARA, Pitch Tank, Groza Gauntlet, Drone Zone, Hydro Dynamics, One Piece, Dansync and Fashion Flair. The fest will conclude with the valedictory ceremony, followed by an opening act and DJ performance.
The fest provides a platform for students to move beyond conventional academic learning and engage in innovation, technology, creativity and cultural expression, while fostering teamwork and healthy competition.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with MCs Prachi and Asher Pintoformally bringing the programme to a close, paving the way for two days of exciting competitions, performances and celebrations at St Joseph Engineering College.
