Hubballi: Among the five guarantee schemes of the state government, the Gruha Jyothi scheme was the first to be implemented in the state. The government has taken the initiative to review this Gruha Jyothi guarantee, which provides 200 units of free electricity to every household. The review has begun from today with the aim of removing ineligible beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the review process has begun in 7 districts under the jurisdiction of Hubballi Electricity Supply Company.
Government moves to review Gruha Jyothi scheme
Two years and ten months after the state Congress government came to power, the government has taken the initiative to review the first guarantee Gruha Jyothi scheme it had given. Only eligible beneficiaries should get the benefit of the scheme. Only beneficiaries of the state should get the benefit, the Energy Department has taken the initiative to review Gruha Jyothi with the aim of removing ineligible beneficiaries.
The re-verification process has begun in all HESCOMs in the state. Similarly, the re-verification of household units has begun in 7 districts under the jurisdiction of Hubballi Electricity Supply Company, which has its headquarters in Hubballi. Two and a half thousand meter readers in the jurisdiction of 7 districts have gone door to door and started collecting information.
Technical problem at the beginning
After receiving information about the installation of the app from the central office this morning, the staff who installed the app initially faced some technical problems. There were problems including the server down problem that the app was not installed. After many attempts, the staff started re-verifying the project after 11 am. The staff visited houses in various parts of Hubballi city and collected information.

But all the problems have been resolved and the staff is going door to door and collecting information.
What kind of information is being collected?
Meter readers, who are going to everyone’s house, collected information about the beneficiaries. They checked the beneficiary’s name, linked mobile number, Aadhaar card number, voter card number, PAN card number, caste, income tax payer or not.
In addition to entering every information, including the photograph of each beneficiary, a copy is also being given to the beneficiaries. Currently, if the beneficiaries collect the required information for re-verification, they should give it when the meter reader arrives. With this, the re-verification process will be completed in a few minutes, said HESCOM Assistant Engineer Deepak.
