Chamba, July 24: While the hills in the mountain ranges of Himachal Pradesh are collapsing due to continuous rains, a rare incident of humanity and adventure has caught the attention of the entire country. A daring video of an ambulance crew saving the life of a 7-month-old baby by hugging him on a dangerous road where the road was completely destroyed by a landslide and rocks were falling has gone viral on social media.
Due to heavy rains, large rocks, stones and mud fell on the mountain road in Chamba district, bringing traffic to a complete standstill. There was a situation where more stones could fall from the slope of the hill above at any moment.
In this case, the ambulance vehicle could not move forward. But since the child needed urgent medical treatment, the ambulance crew immediately took a decision without waiting for the road to be cleared. Holding a 7-month-old baby tightly to his chest, he carefully stepped on the falling rocks and crossed the road to the other side.
Nikhil Saini shared the video on X and wrote, “He deserves all the praise and applause. An ambulance staffer in Chamba risked his own life to carry a 7-month-old baby to safety amidst falling rocks.”
Landslides have become a daily challenge in many districts of Himachal Pradesh, including Chamba, due to monsoon rains. The fact that such emergency service personnel and rescue workers risk their lives to reach patients and victims on foot whenever vehicular traffic is stopped is a testament to the difficult situation in this area.
