Milagres College in collab with ICYM and Mangalore Runners Club held Apex Run 2026

Mangaluru: Milagres College, in association with ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Mangalore Runners Club, successfully organized “Apex Run 2026” on 10th May 2026 Campus, Mangaluru. The mega marathon event was conducted with the objective of promoting fitness, health awareness, youth engagement, and community participation.

The event witnessed an overwhelming response with a total participation of 1450 runners from various educational institutions, organizations, fitness communities, and the general public, making it one of the most vibrant and energetic fitness events in the region.

The programme was presided over by Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, Correspondent Milagres Educational Institutions. The Chief Guest for the event was Msgr. Lawrence Maxim Noronha, Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese. The event was also graced by Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, Principal and Campus Director of Milagres College, Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Clyde Adams Dsouza, Event Coordinator, Floyd Vincent Pinto, Student Coordinator and Vijoy Ashwin Cardoza, President ICYM Mangalore Diocese.

The marathon activities commenced at around 5:20 AM at the Milagres College Campus with an energetic Zumba session conducted by Hardika Shetty, which created enthusiasm and excitement among all participants. The event was further energized with music and entertainment managed by DJ Vajra. The programme was compered by Floyd Pinto.

Following the warm-up session, the official flag-off ceremony was conducted by the Chief Guest Msgr. Lawrence Maxim Noronha.

The 10 KM Run was flagged off at 5:40 AM, followed by the 5 KM Run at 5:50 AM, and the 3 KM Run at 6:00 AM.

The event was conducted smoothly with proper route management, hydration support, volunteer coordination, medical assistance, and police support throughout the marathon route, ensuring the safety and comfort of all participants.

  • 2nd Place – Santosh Kumar (Bib No. 5785)

5 KM Women’s Category

  • 1st Place – Dhanya Prabhu (Bib No. 5558)
  • 2nd Place – Jessica Sarojam (Bib No. 5560)

10 KM Men’s Category

  • 1st Place – Chennakeshava G L (Bib No. 10227)
  • 2nd Place – Ravi Modanthyar (Bib No. 10232)

10 KM Women’s Category

  • 1st Place – Jayashree B R (Bib No. 10228)
  • 2nd Place – Jasmitha Kondenkiri (Bib No. 10332)

The Reels Making Competition winner was Lavita Vas.

The Lucky Bib Number Winner was Shravan (Bib No. 10169).

The Special Trophy for the organization with the highest number of participants was awarded to Mangalore Runners Club for registering 75 participants.

The organizers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors, volunteers, staff members, police personnel, medical teams, participants, and supporting organizations for contributing towards the grand success of Apex Run 2026.

The event concluded successfully with the inspiring message “Run Beyond Limits,” encouraging people to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
