Mangaluru: A national-level intercollegiate PU fest, ‘Nexora – Ignite the Next Era,’ was held at Milagres College on September 16, 2026 in the college auditorium.
The programme was inaugurated by renowned flautist and Golden Book of World Records achiever, Ruben Machado. Speaking on the occasion, he said that when students are provided with an appropriate platform to showcase their talents, their potential grows further. Along with academics, students should engage in music, art, creativity, and various co-curricular activities to develop their personalities holistically. He added that when students recognise their talents and move forward with confidence, new opportunities will open up for them.
Presiding over the programme, Rev. Fr. Ivan Michael Rodrigues, Correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions, said that identifying and encouraging the hidden talents of young people is one of the important responsibilities of educational institutions. He noted that bringing students from different colleges together on a common platform to showcase their talents promotes mutual learning, friendship, and harmony. He expressed the hope that Nexora would not only provide a platform for students to showcase their talents but also inspire them to pursue their dreams for the future.
Dixon D’Souza, President of the Parish Pastoral Parishad; Sumitha Pinto, elected member of the Parish Pastoral Council; Rohitha Melita Crasta and Harsha Salian, Event Coordinators; and student coordinators Delwin Claudius and Khateejathul Nimra were present on the occasion.
Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, Principal and Campus Director of Milagres College, welcomed the gathering. Melita Crasta, Programme Coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks, while lecturer Shaila Moras compered the programme.
Canara Pre-University College won the overall championship, while St. Aloysius Pre-University College secured the runners-up position.
Students from 21 pre-university colleges in the city participated in the event and showcased their talents.
