Mulki: With the grant and continuous efforts of MP Captain Brijesh Chautara, the ever-busy Suratkal railway station is being developed at a cost of about 1.48 crores and the platform and roof work has already been completed for the convenience of passengers, said Ramesh Shetty, president of Suratkal Subhasita Nagar Residents Welfare Association.

The MPs should try to get two trains going to and from North India and the prestigious Bangalore-Karwar Vande Bharat Express train to halt at Suratkal station. Since the Union Government’s Railway Minister is also from our state, this demand of ours can be implemented. Suratkal railway station is the gateway to Mangaluru North City and there is an opportunity to grow tourism here as there is a seashore.
He said that since there are large industries in this area and NITK and Srinivasa Mahavidyalaya are also in the vicinity, it will be a very convenient railway station for the people and students of the state.
