Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old Sikkimese woman was slit to death by her boyfriend with a kitchen knife in a fight that took place in the city’s Doddakanahalli area this morning, police said.

The incident was reported at a rented house under Bellandur police station limits and the accused was arrested on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Ati Hungma Subba (22), a Sikkimese, and worked as a receptionist at a salon in Bengaluru.
The accused has been identified as Purba Lepcha, a Darjeeling native, and worked as a waiter in a hotel, police said.
According to the police, the couple was in a relationship and had come to Bengaluru about a month ago. They had been living together in Doddakanahalli since then.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused woman had a fight with another friend on Thursday morning after suspecting that she was having an affair.
During the fight, Lepcha attacked Subba with a kitchen knife and slit her throat. This is the cause of her death, police said.
Further investigation is underway in this regard.
