UT Khader Steps Up Food Safety Checks at Railway Station Stalls

Bengaluru: Operation Food Raid continues in the state. The Food Safety Department has conducted intensive inspections on 112 food stalls at a total of 36 railway stations across the state.

Speaking to the media in the city, Food Minister UT Khader said, ‘Although such inspections will not immediately change the situation, it will help in creating awareness among the public about food safety and educating them.

Maintaining cleanliness in railway canteens and pantries is very important. Traders should be aware that someone is watching them.

The Food and Safety Department has inspected the pantries and kitchens of major railway stations. These raids are complementary to the health and safety of passengers,’ he said.
