World Environment Day Celebrated with Green Initiatives at St. Antony School Allipade

World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and environmental awareness at St. Antony English Medium School Allipade through a special assembly organized and conducted by the students of Class 7. The programme aimed to create awareness about environmental issues and encourage students to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.

The assembly began with a solemn prayer followed by the State Anthem rendered by the school choir. Setting the theme for the day, Fathima Nifa led the gathering in an Environmental Pledge, reaffirming the commitment of students and staff towards protecting the planet.

Moksha S.K. delivered an informative speech highlighting the significance of World Environment Day and stressing the urgent need to conserve nature and natural resources. Ayisha Safa shared the “Thought for the Day,” inspiring everyone to embrace ecological responsibility.

A major highlight of the programme was an educational skit on environmental protection performed by Chiranjeevi, Mazin, Prinston Fernandes, Dhanvith D., Rifaz, Vishal, Harshini, Luha Shaifa, Fathima Ziya, Fathimathul Shamshiyya, Alvisha Lobo, Lishal, Reema Genefer Menezes, Pranav Nayak, Pratham V. Nayak, and Preetham Nayak. Through their engaging performance, the students effectively conveyed the importance of preserving the environment.

Adding a melodious touch to the celebration, Tasvi K., Prapthi, Pranvi, and Moksha S.K. presented an environment-themed song carrying a powerful message of sustainability and care for Mother Earth.

Addressing the gathering, Headmistress Sr. Lavina Veigas encouraged students to cultivate eco-friendly habits and become responsible stewards of nature. Demonstrating the school’s commitment to environmental conservation, Correspondent Fr. Robert D’Souza, along with Sr. Lavina Veigas and student representatives, planted two saplings in decorative pots.

The celebrations concluded with Class 7 students and their class teacher planting saplings in the school playground, symbolizing their dedication to creating a greener future.

The programme was efficiently compered by Thrupthi S. Under the guidance of their class teacher, the students of Class 7 successfully organized an informative and inspiring assembly that instilled a strong sense of environmental responsibility among all present.
