Mumbai: An IndiGo flight en route from Mumbai to Dubai made an emergency landing in Rajkot, Gujarat today after smoke was detected in the cargo hold. A total of 194 passengers were travelling on the ‘IndiGo 6E 1452’ flight. All passengers were safely disembarked after the plane landed safely.

The pilots, who detected smoke in the cargo hold of the plane, immediately contacted the Rajkot airport. A full-scale emergency was immediately declared at the airport.
Passengers safe:
The plane landed safely in Rajkot as soon as the ATC gave permission. Officials have confirmed that all passengers and flight crew on board are safe and there are no fatalities or injuries.
Alternative arrangements and investigation:
After the emergency landing, the airport safety team and engineers immediately inspected the aircraft. A technical investigation is underway to determine the cause of the smoke and an alternative flight has been arranged to take the passengers to Dubai.
Private airline IndiGo operates flights to over 80 domestic and 30 international destinations.
