Bengaluru: The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is taking action against those who dump garbage, including those who dispose of building waste. Through this, the city is being ensured that the beauty of the city is not spoiled. The corporation is now implementing new rules to put a brake on dumping building debris everywhere. Rules will also come for the disposal of building debris (Demolition).
Fines will be imposed if building debris is disposed of anywhere
From now on, those who demolish a house or building must register. If building debris is disposed of anywhere without registering, a fine is certain.
The company related to the disposal of this debris will set a price of Rs 760 per ton. These new rules are being implemented to prevent the beauty of the city from being spoiled and to collect waste in a proper manner.
Bangalore Urban Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda spoke to the media and said, ‘Further measures will be taken for garbage disposal in Bengaluru. Garbage is disposed of in private vehicles. Some people are still dumping garbage in public places, which is becoming a big problem. Hence, from now on, GPS should be installed in all those vehicles that dispose of garbage. Those who dispose of garbage should register. A meeting will be held with the police and transport departments regarding this and this rule will be implemented soon,’ he said.
Drinking water needs to be prioritized
Speaking on the issue of drinking water in Bengaluru, he said, ‘Drinking water needs to be prioritized in Bengaluru. There is a possibility of rain in the Cauvery basin. Drinking water needs to be given top priority. Discussions have already been held with CM DK Shivakumar. The government has also said that drinking water is a priority.’
