Philippines, Aug 19: A horrifying video of a young man fighting to save his life from an octopus stuck to his face is going viral on social media.

The incident occurred when a fisherman named Jessar Cervantes was fishing near Port Princesa Island last month.
Jessar Cervantes lifted the octopus out of the sea. The octopus immediately attacked. Jessar Cervantes escaped from his grip and held his face and head tightly with its legs.
The octopus’s tentacles were firmly attached to his skin. It was extremely difficult to remove it. At one point, it completely covered the fisherman’s mouth, making it impossible for him to breathe, threatening his life.
When the octopus finally found it difficult to free itself, Cervantes used a piece of bamboo. He repeatedly hit the octopus to loosen its skin and pull it away from his face.
The octopus then loosened its grip. He immediately threw it back into the sea and escaped with his life. The Philippines is home to a variety of octopus species in its coastal waters and coral reefs.
