Macron and Trump: A Political War of Words – The unrest in France has triggered a political spat on the international stage. During campaign rallies for the U.S. midterm elections, American President Donald Trump brought up the violence in France, describing it as “havoc caused by immigrants, jihadists, and communists.” Furthermore, he expressed praise for Marine Le Pen, the leader of France’s right-wing opposition party.
Macron’s Outrage: Responding sharply to Trump’s remarks, French President Emmanuel Macron hit back, stating, “Foolish statements are being made, exploiting France’s crisis for the sake of electoral gain in another country. Leaders sitting on the other side of the Atlantic, caught up in campaign mode, should not interfere in our internal affairs.”
