Bhopal, May 08: This is not a movie story, but a real incident that happened in Satna, Madhya Pradesh. A female officer named Firoza Khatun, who is working as an assistant jailer in the Central Jail here, fell in love with Dharmendra Singh, who was serving a sentence for murder in the same jail, and married him as per Hindu tradition, drawing everyone’s attention.

Dharmendra Singh was convicted in the murder case of Krishna Dutt Dixit, Vice President of Municipal Council of Chandla area, in 2007, and was serving his sentence in Satna Central Jail.
Firoza Khatun, who was appointed as the Assistant Jail Superintendent in the same jail, was given the responsibility of the warrant department.
Jail officials said that the professional relationship between the two gradually developed into friendship and then love during their duty.
After serving almost 14 years in prison, Dharmendra Singh was released on good behavior grounds and the two have decided to get married.
The couple got married as per Hindu customs in Lavakush Nagar in Chhatarpur district on May 5. However, Feroza’s family did not agree to the marriage.
In the absence of the family, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) district vice-president Raj Bahadur Mishra and his wife performed the wedding. Members of Bajrang Dal also attended the wedding. Jail officials and fellow inmates wished the newlyweds well.
