Cincinnati, Ohio / Same District, Tanzania – 2026: In a world searching for compassion and humanity, one survivor’s painful journey from hunger and hopelessness to global humanitarian leadership is becoming an inspiring testimony of courage, resilience, and faith in action.
Harold D’Souza has exemplified to the world; “The greatest purpose of life is not how much we receive, but how many lives we uplift with love, compassion, and hope.

Eyes Open International President Harold D’Souza will commence a life-changing Free Food Drive in Majevu Village, Same District, Tanzania, beginning June 1, 2026, feeding 200 children daily through a year-long humanitarian mission focused on nourishment, education, dignity, empowerment, and hope.
Harold D’Souza, an internationally recognized inspirational speaker, survivor leader, and anti-human trafficking advocate, will visit Tanzania in June 2026 to encourage vulnerable children, empower communities, and support humanitarian outreach efforts dedicated to restoring dignity and opportunity.
The project is being fully funded by Eyes Open International (EOI) with heartfelt donors from America, collaboration and support from the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation African Region. Under the compassionate leadership of Sr. Leena Matthias, the Assisi Convent Sisters have already been feeding 100 children daily since June 1, 2025.
What began as a humble mission to feed 100 children will now double its impact and expand to 200 children beginning June 1, 2026.
Breaking the Cycle of Poverty Through Human Rights and Education
Harold D’Souza strongly believes that lasting transformation begins with education, awareness, compassion, and opportunity. Through Eyes Open International, he remains deeply committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by educating communities in Tanzania and across the globe on Human Rights and the United Nations 30 Articles of Human Rights.
Harold believes every child deserves the freedom to live with dignity, safety, education, equality, and hope regardless of race, religion, nationality, or social status.
“Food nourishes the body, but education and human rights nourish the future,” shared Harold D’Souza. “When we empower children with knowledge, dignity, and hope, we are creating generations of freedom.”
From Starvation to Service: Harold D’Souza’s Journey Inspires Humanity
Harold D’Souza shared emotionally: “Once upon a time, I personally understood the pain of hunger, hopelessness, and fear. I know what it means to sleep hungry and dream of a better tomorrow. Today, by God’s grace and through compassionate supporters worldwide, Eyes Open International is feeding children, empowering communities, and building hope globally. This is not simply charity; this is humanity in action.”
The Majevu Primary School initiative serves children from low-income and poverty-stricken families. For many students, they cannot afford mid-day meal. The humanitarian effort improves health, school attendance, emotional well-being, confidence, and educational opportunities for vulnerable children.
Harold D’Souza often reminds communities worldwide: “Never allow your struggles to define your future. Focus on the roots, not the fruits. Every human being born on this planet has the time, talent, and treasure of wisdom to live a life with freedom, dignity, and purpose.”
