Bengaluru: Nine workers have been arrested for allegedly stealing gold bars and jewellery from a private company in Bengaluru, police said on Tuesday.
The case came to light after the owner of a private gold company on Nagaratpet Main Road filed a complaint at the Halasuru Gate police station on May 12.

According to the complaint, the nine workers, who were working in the company for the past six months, allegedly stole gold bars and jewellery from the premises on the night of May 11 and fled.
During investigation, it was found that the nine workers were travelling by train from Bengaluru to West Bengal via Visakhapatnam, and the police arrested the accused based on reliable information, a senior police officer said.
Acting on specific information, nine labourers were arrested with stolen gold bars and jewellery near the railway station in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on May 13, the official said.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in the crime and were produced before the court and remanded in two-day police custody, the official said.
During detailed interrogation, the accused said that they committed the theft as they were not paid their salaries regularly and with the intention of earning easy money, the official said.
The police have recovered a total of 618 grams of gold bars and jewellery, including gold worth Rs 89 lakh, from the arrested accused.
