Mumbai, Oct 17: Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has faced a new setback; officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have demolished portions of his bungalow in Mumbai’s Juhu area, following allegations that construction work was carried out there without the necessary permissions.

The operation took place at his 7,802-square-foot bungalow located within the Kapol Co-operative Housing Society in Juhu. Reports indicate that the BMC had previously issued a notice regarding the construction work, but as the work continued despite this, the authorities took action.
According to the BMC, various construction activities—including internal alterations, the erection of partition walls, and modifications to windows—were being carried out at the bungalow without obtaining the required municipal approvals. Consequently, on September 10, the BMC issued a formal notice under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, directing that the work be stopped immediately and that the necessary documentation be submitted.
However, municipal officials allege that the construction work continued even after the notice was issued. As a result, the authorities visited the site and removed the unauthorized portions of the construction. In visuals from the operation, officials can be seen breaking down parts of the structure using hammers.
Ajay Devgn’s name also linked to the ‘Vimal’ advertisement controversy:
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn’s appearance in an advertisement for ‘Vimal’ cardamom has sparked a controversy. It is reported that the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued show-cause notices to actors Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan, and Tiger Shroff in connection with this matter.
Tukaram Mundhe, the head of the Maharashtra FDA, stated that an inquiry is underway to determine whether the advertisement was intended to indirectly promote a banned product.
