Mangaluru: St Aloysius Gonzaga School, Mangaluru, celebrated the Feast of its patron, St Aloysius Gonzaga, on 19 June 2026 with devotion, gratitude, and joy. The occasion was made even more special with the felicitation of the newly appointed Rector, Rev. Fr Brian Pereira, SJ.
In his address, Rev. Fr Brian Pereira SJ, Rector of St. Aloysius Institutions, highlighted the importance of the three “D’s” — Dream, Discipline, and Dedication as guiding principles for a meaningful and successful life rooted in Jesuit values. Encouraging students to dream big, remain disciplined, and pursue their goals with dedication, he reminded them that confidence, perseverance, and commitment are essential for turning aspirations into reality.

Sharing a message with the staff, Fr Brian expressed his gratitude for their trust, support, and cooperation. He encouraged everyone to work collaboratively, remain united in their mission, and continue serving with love, dedication, and a shared sense of purpose.
The Principal, Rev. Fr Rohan D’Almeida SJ, urged students to draw inspiration from the life and values of St Aloysius Gonzaga, particularly his compassion and selfless service to humanity. He explained that the saint devoted himself to caring for those afflicted by the plague, reflecting his deep concern for people in need. Encouraging students to embrace a spirit of service, he referred to the inspiring words displayed at the entrance to the school; “Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve”—and called upon them to use their education and talents for the betterment of society.
The programme commenced with an inter-faith prayer service, reflections on the life and virtues of St Aloysius Gonzaga, and cultural presentations that highlighted the themes of faith, service, and commitment.
International Yoga Champion Master Shaurya Kumar of Class VII was felicitated by the dignitaries for his outstanding achievements. Winners of various Feast Day competitions were also honoured with trophies and certificates.
Vice-Principals Laurel D’Souza and Aparna Suresh, Academic Coordinators Deepa Karkada, Deepthi Karkada, and Carol Rodrigues, along with PTEC Vice President Reena Noronha and Joint Secretary Quinni Fernandes, were also present on the occasion.
