Model caught red-handed with ganja worth Rs 12 crore

Mumbai, June 13: Model Harsha Sunny, who arrived in Mumbai from Bangkok, was arrested by customs officials. Around Rs 12 crore worth of ganja was found in his luggage, the officials revealed. 12 vacuum sealed packets hidden in a trolley bag were seized and a case has been registered under the NDPS Act. However, Harsha Sunny said that he did not know that the bag contained narcotics.

He was caught red-handed after arriving in Mumbai from Bangkok. Airport officials who checked Harsha Sunny’s luggage, who had arrived in Mumbai from Bangkok, revealed that he was caught with ganja. The police have taken 28-year-old Harsha Sunny into custody and started an investigation. It is yet to be known who else is behind him.

Harsha Sunny arrived at the Mumbai airport from Bangkok at midnight on June 1. When suspicious officials checked the luggage, they found 12 vacuum sealed packets hidden in a trolley bag. When tested using the NDPS field testing kit, it was found to be ganja. With this, Harsha Sunny was arrested by the customs officials under the NDPS Act for smuggling prohibited drugs. Later, Harsha Sunny was produced before the court and the court remanded him in judicial custody.

However, Harsha Sunny’s argument is different. He said that he was taken to Bangkok in the name of a program. “A person there gave me a bag and asked me to take it to India. But, I did not know that the bag contained illegal goods and narcotics,” Harsha Sunny said.
